Since leaving Dublin University in 1998, Harry went to work for Tattersalls in Newmarket for 13 Years. In 2012 he moved back to the Emerald Isle to work for Tattersalls Ireland and live at Rahinston with his wife Lorna.
He has ridden as an amateur jockey since the age of 19 with over 60 winners to his name, including a highlight in winning the race after the Monty’s Pass‘s Aintree Grand National in 2003 on Lord Atterbury for David Pipe. Before Tattersalls Harry spent valuable time working in Kentucky (U.S.A) for a Churchill Downs trainer, Andrew McKeever.
Harry also manages a number of pin-hooking syndicates, one of their notable successes was the 2007 Cheltenham Champion Bumper favourite, Mad Fish. He has an in depth knowledge of pedigrees and conformation which he has built up over the years working for Tattersalls as an inspector and selector of young horses, both Flat and National Hunt for all Tattersalls sales in the UK and Ireland. He continues to manage and develop new syndicates giving clients at Rahinston the opportunity to invest for re-sale and/or have fun watching their horses run on the race-track.
