Lorna grew up with racehorses in Fife where her mother Sue trains. She rode for eight years as an amateur and has spent time working in racing in South Africa, working for the Doumens in France and prepping horses for the sales in Hong Kong.
After leaving Glasgow University in 2001 she turned her attention to the media side of the sport. She was the ‘Voice’ of Newmarket for seven years before re-locating to Ireland where she continues to work for Racing UK and Timeform Radio as a Presenter as well as maintaining her role as Editor of the Thoroughbred Business Guide. In 2011 she won the St Patricks Day Derby on Plato, trained by Sir Henry Cecil in the Niarchos Family colours at the Cheltenham Festival - definitely a career highlight!
While continuing her media role, Lorna is very much involved in the development and promotion of the Stud.
